Abstract

Suspended hexagonal micro strip antenna with a single coaxial feed has been proposed for circular polarization. The configuration has been realized by inserting perturbations along two opposite sides of the suspended hexagonal micro strip antenna. The bandwidth of 83 MHz has been obtained corresponding to VSWR < 2 dB , axial ratio< 3 dB has been achieved for the suspended antenna which is designed at 2.4 GHz. return losses -10 dB. Ansoft HFSS software has been used to simulate the antenna and observed that increase in iterations led to improvement is VSWR & return losses. This optimized micro strip antenna has the potential of operating in several of the currently broad band commercial existing systems such as, Bluetooth and GSM.
