Abstract

This paper describes an innovative approach for tracking white line on a multicolored background using image processing. Raspberry Pi model B version 1.1 along with Raspberry Pi camera is used for this purpose. The path is captured continuously through the camera, captured frames are processed with the help of OpenCv library. Various morphological operations such as dilation, erosion are used for further processing of captured frames. For achieving faster speed of operation and efficient utilization of the available built-in memory only Region of Interest (ROI) is processed instead of complete frame. Furthermore, the coordinates of line are continuously transmitted to the controller and steering is controlled accordingly in order to follow the line. For the front wheel steering control, servo motor is used in order to achieve the precise movement.
