This paper put forwards an asymmetric forward fly back DC-DC converter that has high power conversion efficiency. Instead of using transformer leakage inductance, voltage doubler structure with forward inductor Lf at the secondary side is used to overcome the voltage ringing of diode and duty loss and to control the output current in asymmetric half bridge converter (AHB). Forward inductor Lf resonates with capacitors in voltage doubler to obtain zero voltage turn on of switches and zero current turn off of diodes for wide output ranges. MATLAB software tool is used to implement the model and carry out simulation studies. Finally, a prototype was developed; efficiency of 90% at output power of 99.4 was measured with input voltage of 390v, Vo of 142 v and frequency 100 KHz. |
