Abstract

Automatic power factor compensation is widely employed in industry to improve system performance and avoid penalty imposed by utility in case of poor power factor. Since relay based capacitor bank switching adds to THD, we present a design and performance of triac based capacitor bank switching using on arduino microcontroller. The performance of system is evaluated for different load conditions.
