Most buildings represent substantial investments for organizations and usually have to accommodate and support a range of activities, taking into account competing needs; this is so true for human habitat in urban or rural setting as well. The research undertaken with the aim to identify changing role of Facility Management with the change in users, expectations and purpose of the infrastructure. The scope of the study is limited to three sectors - residential, institutional and retail. Irrespective of size and area of the residential property, at least utilities should be well managed as it is a basic need for day to day activities. For educational institution housekeeping service plays a major role. With the quality of education, health and hygiene of a student is extremely important. Thus the role of Facility Management differs for different built environment. |
