Abstract |
|
The inhibition efficiency (IE) of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) in controlling corrosion of carbon steel in natural sea water in the absence and presence of Zn (II) ion has been evaluated by weight loss method. The formulation consisting of 250 ppm EDTA and 50 ppm Zn (II) has 96% IE. The protective film formed on the metal surface has been characterized by atomic force microscopy (AFM). |
