This paper discusses about the various microgrid technologies for integrating different non-conventional and conventional energy sources. Initially different architectures of microgrids are presented and then their control strategies are discussed. Afterwards the protection schemes are analyzed in different fault conditions and finally some recent applications of microgrid technologies are explained. Meanwhile a comparison of AC and DC microgrids is also made as a comparative study. |
