Abstract |
Carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. It is responsible for global warming. There are a number of technologies which have been developed that utilize the principle of CO2 capture evolved via fossil fuel combustion and agricultural waste. There are three ways for capturing CO2 from fossil fuel combustion: (a) after (post) combustion, (b) before (pre) combustion and (c) during combustion through modiï¬cation (Oxy-fuel). Different technologies used for CO2 capture include membranes, adsorption, ab-sorption and other techniques such as reduction, cryogenic and mineralization methods. In this paper, we focus on different type of Ionic Liquids for CO2 capture such as Conventional Ionic Liquids, Task-Speciï¬c Ionic Liquids (TSIL) & Poly (Ionic Liquids) (PILs) and discuss about advantages and disadvantages of the same against amine and ammonia solution. |
