Abstract |
|
Today, as sensing, actuation, communication, and control have become ever more sophisticated and universal, there is significant overlap in these communities, sometimes from slightly different perspectives. They cut across many areas of modern day living. This offers the ability to measure, deduce and understand environmental indicators, from delicate ecologies and natural resources to urban environments. With the increase of these devices in a communicating-actuating network creates the Internet of Things (IoT), wherein, sensors and actuators blend effortlessly with the environment around us. This paper presents an overview of IoT, communication models, IoT origins and drivers along with its challenges and issues. |
