Abstract |

Sandcrete is a low cost construction material prepared with mortar consisting of cement and sand. Other admixtures are also used. The blocks prepared by sandcrete are useful in non-load bearing structures. On the other hand, limited resources of river sand used as fine aggregate together with growing demand of concrete requires alternative materials as fine aggregate. In this, quarry dust provides good alternative. In present study, quarry dust is used as replacement of sand in sandcrete. The amount of quarry dust is varied and its effect is observed on water absorption, density and compressive strength. |
