Abstract

Glaucoma is a progressive eye disease and is called “Silent Theif of Sight”. Currently, glaucoma assessment is manually performed by trained ophthalmologists limiting its potential for population based glaucoma screening. Thus there is a need for an efficient automatic glaucoma assessment technique. In this paper we propose a novel technique for the detection of glaucoma using retinal fundus images which mainly affects the optic disc by increasing the cup size. The simulation is done using MATLAB tool.
