IP address spoofing or IP Spoofing refers to “the creation of Internet protocol (IP) packets with forged source IP address with the intention of concealing the identity of the sender and impersonate other computing systemâ€. Most spoofing is done for illegitimate purposes—attackers usually want to hide their own identity and somehow damage the IP packet destination. There are many types of Spoofed attacks which are often use IP spoofing to overload networks and devices with packets that appear to be from legitimate source IP addresses.
