Abstract |

The floating column building are the buildings in which column is discontinued thereby changing the load path and is found to cause great damage under earthquake load. RCC frame building with and without floating column when subjected to earthquake time history is studied in present study. Three different type of configurations are employed in a building. The nonlinear time history analysis is most accurate analysis and is used in present study. The building models are analysed in Seismostruct software. The models are analysed for both lateral and vertical components of earthquake. The results show that in case of outer floating column, the displacements of both components are adverse. |
