Feasibility Studies on Use of GFRP Rebar's as Reinforcement in Concrete

Abstract

The recent studies have shown that the glass fibres can be a very good replacement of cement in concrete industries. The glass fibre has very good cementious properties thus they can be used as a substitute material for the cement. The production of cement accompanied with a large amount of carbon dioxide gas which is not good for the environment thus replacing cement by glass fibres has a good impact on the environment too. Also now days the glass industry is facing a disposal problem related to glass waste. This study is beneficial for both the industries. In this study the cement is replaced by glass fibres in the varying percentage of 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% by weight of cement. The test is performed on these varying percentages and observations are recorded. After this a M30 grade of concrete is made with the same amount of varying percentages and values are recorded. The final results are shown with the help of tables.
