Recycled aggregates obtained from various stages of construction demolition etc. are being researched to be used as partial replacements for natural aggregates, while a number of manufactured aggregates. On the other hand, concrete is known to possess good resistance against external lateral forces like winds, hurricanes, tornadoes etc. owing to its high stiffness in that direction, which results in least horizontal movement. However, this stiffness also leads to, in certain types of concrete structures particularly where a relatively higher flexing structure is required, to resist more extreme forces. In this work, the coarse aggregate is partially replaced in amount of 5% and 10%, which passed through 10 mm & 12 mm size of flaky aggregate. Results in terms of slump value and compressive strength of cement and concrete are presented. |
