Abstract

This paper reports the investigation of a new type of foundation that is very much useful under the eccentric loading conditions. This type of footing is known as the “Angle Shaped Footing”. The footing is designed basically to encounter the inclined as well as eccentric loading. By varying the length of the projection and the angle of the projection the tilt of the footing has been determined. Since, zero tilt condition is of uttermost importance, the results and the graphs have been plotted for the same. The readymade package ‘ANSYS’ has been used for conducting the finite element analysis of the footing.
