Abstract |
|
Measurement of stress typically involves conventional methods using strain gauges. This work shall be pursued for offering research work in an alternative method using ‘Photo-elasticity’. While a coat of specified material is applied on the test specimen. The stresses on the same can be visualized as a spectrum of colours; each colour is indicating a particular level of stress induced. The process of validation for this method is sought through development of Finite Element Methodology. This numerical methodology shall be compared for results with the Experimental data and vice-versa. The concurrence of the results shall offer validation for this thesis work. Photo Spectrometer shall be used for conducting test while applying (specified) loads to the specimen fetching the stresses at the visual locations on the specimen. |
