Abstract

TWA for exposure to cement dust can be used when both the cement dust concentration and time for exposure varies over time. It is thus used as the average exposure to cement dust to which workers may be exposed without adverse effect over a period such as in an 8-hour day or 40-hour week (an average work shift). These are usually expressed in units of ppm (volume/volume) or mg/m3. The main focus presented in this research paper to captures the time weighted concentration of cement dust in which the construction workers are frequently exposed and work for 8 hrs duration in a day. An average TWA of cement dust and percentage of cement present in the dust are computed using the data series for a better representation of result.
