Abstract

Image segmentation algorithm plays a role in biomedical imaging applications such as the quantification of tissue volumes diagnosis, localization of pathology study of anatomical structure, treatment planning, partial volume correction of functional imaging data, and computer integrated surgery. Various image segmentation techniques are discussed in this paper. Results of various segmentation techniques are compared. Multi atlas based methods gives best segmentation results.
