Abstract |
|
In this Rapid urbanization especially in region of expansion and widening of roads are common. Decades are witnessed that sudden impact or impulsive loads are common for buildings or structures situated in between the expansion or widening of roads. They may suffer some sort of shock loads due any accidental uncertainty created by vehicular movement. Therefore considerations of impact loads in urban region due to vehicular moments are unavoidable. Therefore consideration of impact loads in analysis and design procedures are mandatory, Keeping its importance in view, R.C framed structure (2D & 3D) are created in SAP 2000 & a time history function in the form of impulse or sudden loading have been applied to the mathematical models which were created. The impact loads have been calculated manually and applied at certain heights of exterior columns, where an impact can be expected due to vehicles. Analysis results such as fundamental natural time period of structures, time history traces such as displacement Vs velocity and Displacement Vs Acceleration for a particular joint of the structure have been studied in detail. Results have been compared for better understanding of impact load on overall performance of the structure. |
