Abstract

This paper describes the process of planning, designing, testing and implementation a hybrid electric bicycle. It provides the solution to the challenges of modifying an existing mechanical system to an eco-friendly system. Through designing this system, with various non-human electrical inputs and feedback channels, a major challenge was centralizing the control of the system. The development of bike starts with establishing the criteria for speed, control, efficiency, and weight and ensure the easiness and safety of both rider and the integrated system.
