Concrete is solid and substantial building material. But there is no concrete mixtures developed that are capable to transmit the light. By altering the ingredients of traditional concrete with transparent ones or implanting fiber optics, transparent concrete has become a reality. Light Transmitting concrete, also known as translucent concrete. In this paper, we studied about manufacturing process and mechanical properties of translucent concrete by using optical fiber. Also, focus upon how we can use this innovative material as effective green building material. |
