The Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is a Flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) uses the thyristor controlled devices that can control all the three system. UPFC is capable of controlling real and reactive powers in a transmission system. This paper presents control and performance of Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) is investigated in controlling the real and reactive power flow control using IEEE 14 bus standards system. UPFC is studied to improve the power flow over a transmission line in a standard IEEE 14 bus system by using MATLAB / SIMULINK software in a power system. For the selected standard system, real and reactive power flows are compared with and without UPFC to improve the performance and also improve the voltage profile. In this paper implementation and digital simulation using UPFC to improve the power flow is presented. The MATLAB/SIMULINK model results are presented to verify the results. It can be shows that compare the waveforms results of active, reactive power and voltage when with and without UPFC in connected to IEEE 14 bus standards system. |
