Abstract

In this survey paper, we will discuss about different 3D face recognition methods that we have explored till now. After finding different researches on face recognition we came to know that many researches in face recognition have been dealing with the challenge of the great variability in head pose, lighting direction and intensity, facial expression, and aging. The main purpose of this survey paper is to describe the recent 3D face recognition algorithms. One advantage of 3D face recognition is that it is not affected by changes in lighting like other techniques. It can also identify a face from a range of viewing angles, including a profile view. A disadvantage of most presented 3D face recognition methods is that they still treat the human face as a rigid object. This means that the methods aren’t capable of handling facial expressions.
