This paper elaborates the performance of DC and AC micro grid involving solar and wind based hybrid system. Here solar photovoltaic system is extracting maximum energy from sunlight by using Maximum Power Point Tracking method. The Maximum Power Point mainly relies on temperature of cell, solar irradiance and array voltage of the solar Photovoltaic array. The performance of PV generator is analysed with and without MPPT under various conditions of solar irradiance. By implementing d-q frame current control method in inverter control system, the reactive power control can be achieved efficiently. Also the voltage profile at the load side is maintained constant for varying solar irradiance and load conditions. The generated power is sent to local loads initially and then the remaining power is transmitted to the utility grid. On the other hand, depending on the wind velocity, wind turbine rotates and energises an permanent magnet synchronous generator to feed power to the local loads and then to the utility grid.. The MATLAB simulation tool is used to simulate solar and wind based hybrid system. |
