Abstract |

Low rise buildings were generally selected in India as common option but now a days in India population is rapidly increasing and due to that the requirement of construction of medium and high rise buildings is also increasing. But for medium and high rise buildings this type of structures are no longer economical because of hazardous form work, less stiffness, span restriction, and increased dead load. Steel structure can be suitable in that case. In present study RCC and steel structures are considered for comparative study of G+30 story commercial building. For modeling and analysis of RCC and steel structures, ETABS software is used and the results are compared. And it is found that total weight of steel structure is comparatively less than RCC structure. The base shear in both direction for steel structure is less with respect to RCC structure. The values of story displacements are within permissible limit. Steel structure gives more ductility to structure as compared to RCC. |
