Abstract |
The objective of this research study is to optimize process parameters in Electrical discharge machining. The experiments were conducted on electrical discharge machine to process on SS316L material by using copper tool electrode. Voltage, current and spark gap are the process parameters that considered to maximize material removal rate and minimize surface roughness. Experiments were designed by using L27 orthogonal array and optimization of process parameters was carried out using Taguchi optimization technique. Main effect plot and Signal to Noise (S/N) Ratio plot is used to analyse the effect of input process parameters. Result shows the contribution of input parameters voltage, current and spark gap to affect material removal rate and surface roughness. |
