Design Methodology for Libr-H2O Vapour Absorption Refrigeration System

Abstract

Vapour Absorption Refrigeration (VAR)is one of the important alternative for conventional refrigeration system as it requires low grade heat energy which may be supplied by solar energy. There are number of factors affecting the selection of VAR system, particularly temperature of the main components for Libr-H2O system for obtaining high Coefficient of performance (COP) within limit of crystallization. The detailed method for same is described which indicates to obtain high COP absorber temperature of lower value is more important then higher values of generator temperature. The graph for other factors like circulation ratio, enthalpy values for different absorber and generator temperature are provided.
