Abstract

This paper takes into consideration the sequential nature of application of dead loads in three illustrative multistoried buildings and implicates its importance in design using Sequential Construction Analysis. It has been established that Sequential Construction plays an important role in understanding the behavior of structure under gravity loads. This paper takes this research a step ahead and identifies the influence of lateral loads i.e. earthquake and wind for design of buildings using IS 450: 2000, IS 1893: 2002 (Part I) and IS 875: 1987. Thus, building models have been designed using Linear Static Analysis, Sequential Construction Analysis and Sequential Construction Analysis with P Delta Effect and their response have been compared in the form of Bending Moments, Axial Forces and Joint Displacements.
