Precipitation denotes all forms of moisture which reaches on the ground from atmosphere. Precipitation mainly includes snowfall and water droplet (rainfall). India gets mainly precipitation in the form of rainfall. To measure rainfall there are two ways first one is non recording type raingauge and second one is recording type raingauge. These all rain gauges records rain fall at a particular point but not at over an area. Measurement of precipitation over an area is required for design of hydraulic structures and drainage system of an area. Measurement of precipitation over an area is calculated by Arithmetical Mean Method, Thiessen Polygon Method and isohyetal method. This paper presents study of Measurement of Precipitation over an Area. |
