Abstract |
|
Polyamides are the most common engineering polymer. The tribological properties of polyamides considered good, but yet different fillers as solid lubricants and fiber are added into polymer matrixes to improve their performance in sliding systems. Carbon fibers also have good stiffness, strength hence it can be used to reduced wear rate .PTFE used for better COF. These properties can also be improved further when suitable particulates, which causes increase their strength and hence the load carrying capacity of the components. The objective of this Dissertation work is to evaluate the influence of test speed and load on the wear behavior of polyamide 66 reinforced with increasing amount of carbon fibers and also fix amount of PTFE, under dry condition. |
