Abstract |
|
Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is an approach for retrieving similar images from an image database based on automatically-derived image features. The quality of a retrieval system depends on the features used to describe image content. Image retrieval in general and content based image retrieval in particular are well-known research fields in information management. An image contains several types of visual information which are difficult to extract and combine manually by humans. Feature extraction algorithms and similarity measures for image comparison are usually the basis of most CBIR systems. Search in image content uses the low–level image features such as color, texture and shape. |
