Perovskite material used in fabricating solar cells as absorber has significantly improved the efficiency of solar cells for power conversion. They have PCE considerably higher than its other counter parts existing such as organic solar cell. They also have efficiency more than the dye sensitized devices. They are reported to have PCE of around 20%. There has been an impressive increase in the value of efficiency of Solar Cells using Perovskite material. This improvement has been reported in just last three years. The value of power conversion efficiency has increased from a value of 9.6% in 2012 to a value of 20.1% in 2015 for lead based halides. For halides employing tin the efficiency is still less at around 18%. In this paper the comparison between the two solar cells employing different perovskite materials has been done. It is calculated that with the use of lead halide as absorber layer the efficiency of solar cell is more as compared to the device employing tin halide as the absorber layer. With lead halide as absorber, the efficiency is around 24% while with the tin halide the efficiency is low at around 18%. |
