As the information on the web is increasing, it is becoming difficult for users to choose the right option. So recommendation systems are developed to guide the users in selecting the best option. But traditional recommendation systems suggest items according to ratings given by users which can’t be considered as the prime factor as user’s ratings are actuated by various other factors such as location, time, mood, weather, season etc known as context. In this paper we did an extensive study of context, its paradigms and we mainly focused on which paradigm outperforms other and under what situations, what are the major application areas and the research challenges faced in this domain. |
