Abstract

Ship Building and Ship repair industry being the most dangerous among the Heavy engineering category, the project intends to analyse the accidents, of Leading Ship Builder and Ship Repairers in India for the period from 1st Jan 2011 to 31st Dec 2015. The statement of the problem is to trend analysis of injury accidents and is focused on identifying various effects these accidents cause to the Human morale of the work force in Shipyard and how it affected their work culture. The study also analyze the various measures taken by Shipyard in order to address these accidents such as Work Permit System, Motivating factors such as Award Systems, Promotional Activities, training, adoption of new methods.
