Abstract |
|
Two phases namely a matrix and a reinforcement phase constitute composite materials. Most of studies shows that the material used for components should possess better tribological properties. In this paper four samples were prepared by using stir casting. First sample is Al7075 with 2% SiC and 8% FlyAsh, second sample consist of Al7075 with 4% SiC and 6% FlyAsh, third sample consist of Al7075 with 6% SiC and 4% FlyAsh, and the fourth sample is of Al7075 with 8%SiC and 2% Fly Ash. Wear is increased when Silicon Carbid and FlyAsh is added to Al7075. Microstructure is also studied using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to understand the wear. Al7075 with Silicon Carbide and Fly Ash finds application in automobile industries. |
