Green Engineering in Tyre Manufacturing Industry: An Integrative Configuration

This research aims to explore significance of Green Supply Chain Management of an organization operating in manufacturing sector. The main focus of this research is to investigate GSCM practices and its impact on the operational efficiency of the manufacturing unit as part of Corporate Social Responsibility policies. The study is conducted in a major tyre manufacturing group operating in south India, Apollo Tyres Ltd. The primary research question is whether green supply chain management is effective in attaining corporate reputation and sustainable development that leads to competitive advantage. The major objectives of the research that is formulated to answer the research question are to explore Green Supply Chain Management strategies and practices of Apollo Tyres as part of CSR policies, examines how GSCM contributes to improve the performance of the company especially operational efficacy and to examine whether GSCM offers corporate reputation and sustainable development for the company.
