Abstract

Wind energy is one of the most promising and developed renewable energy resources. A power electronic interface is needed to connect the Solar Energy Conversion system (SECS) to the load or grid. Control of Photo Voltaic (PV) Energy Conversion side and grid side converters, is very important. A sliding mode control technique is used in this proposed work for PV Energy Conversion - controlling grid side converter system. This work deals with the control of a solar energy conversion (SEC) system connected to the grid using DC-DC converter and grid side DC-AC converter. Sliding mode controller is used to regulate the PV panel temperature and amount of power to be generated from the solar power. PI controller is used to control the grid side DC-AC converter, which controls the DC bus voltage and the active and reactive powers injected into the grid.
