Abstract |
Self-compacting concrete (SCC) was developed to address the space problem in structural elements having highly congested reinforcement the result and optimization of self-compacting rubberized concrete has been investigated by using Taguchi method. Design of experiment has been done through orthogonal array to accommodate 4 factors with 4 levels to make a total of 16 number of trail mixes. Factors selected are the fine rubber percentage, coarse rubber percentage, fly ash and viscocrete in the concrete mix. The signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio is utilized to study the performance features of self-compacting rubberized concrete. Concrete containing rubber can be improved using the concrete proportioned as self-compacting concrete. The outcomes showed that there is a reduction in the strength with increasing rubber content. Though, the substitution of 10% of coarse aggregate with coarse rubber gives higher strength than that of zero rubber mix by 124% after 90 days. |
