Abstract

The engine and gearbox are the important parts in the automobile. The engine is for the production of mechanical energy and the gearbox is the part having series of gear ratio for the transmission. The engine and gearbox coupling is the process in which the two parts were coupled for the transmission purpose. The failure of the engine analysis was made and the problem identified in the engine and gearbox coupling. In order to overcome the failure the idea for the automation improvement was proposed. The existing process and the proposed solution also compared for the automation improvement. The datas for the process were collected from the ASHOK LEYLAND plant, Ennore, Chennai.
