Abstract |
Energy management falls under the big umbrella of social responsibility and the narrower category of pollution control and environmental management. Energy management includes planning and operation of energy production and energy consumption units. Objectives are resource conservation, climate protection and cost savings, while the users have permanent access to the energy they need. It is connected closely to environmental management, production management, logistics and other established business functions. Energy management is gaining considerable importance among corporations and managers. The Environmental Protection Agency has established guidelines for superior energy management. Renewable energy technology can help countries meet their policy goals for secure, reliable and affordable energy to expand electricity access and promote development. The costs and performance of renewable energy technologies have reached the stage where the number of economical applications in developing countries is increasing, particularly in the grid and off-grid markets for electricity. |
