Multicast protocols are used to transfer the messages with a selected group of devices. Multicast is an effective method to maintenance group communication and decrease communicating energy. Multicasting can efficiently support a wide variety of applications. It is challenging to design a separate multicast routing protocol for sensor networks. The multicast routing protocols are fall under these three categories. Mesh based routing protocols, Tree based routing protocols and Hierarchical routing protocols. The ODMRP protocols are effective multicast routing Protocols in MANETs. Here we analyse the performance based on some important matrices of the two multicast routing protocols ODMRP (On-Demand Multicast Routing Protocol) for Wireless sensor networks. This paper presents the performance analysis of these two protocols with various performance measures with respect to Energy efficiency, scalability and reliability. |
