Abstract

This paper presents the experimental investigation of bond strength of fresh concrete and old concrete using various methods & bonding agents. As part of the research the main objective of work is to determine the bond strength between old and fresh concrete for which the plain cement concrete (PCC) beam specimen of size 700x150x150mm was casted. The specimen was half fill with concrete & the remaining proportion was casted after the 24 hour by implementing the surface treatment by scrubbing and chipping and applying the bonding agents of cement slurry & SBR latex on it. After the curing period of 28days. The specimens of the size 150x150x150mm from the PCC beam were cut where the bond line appears and slant shear test were performed on it. From the experiment it was concluded that chipping with SBR latex gives good result.
