Abstract

In any process plant level of the silos, dust bunkers or bins is measured continuously for a specific purpose. In large size dust bunkers level measurement is always challenging due to the heavy dust concentration, moisture and high temperature inside it. Conventional level sensors for this large sized bunker are very costly and are not techno economically feasible. In such cases existing PLC system used for the control and automation of process plants may be utilized for developing a solution to this problem. This concept of utilizing PLC automation feature with inputs of conventional low cost sensors will be used as developing a real time solution to this vital problem of large dust bunkers of process plants.
