Abstract |

Cylindrical grinding machine is used in machining of components for smooth surface finishing and to get close tolerances. To improve surface properties and mechanical properties with extended life of object optimal conditions are necessary for manufacturing. Although grinding operation has great importance in total manufacturing process still there optimal parametric values are not accounted by many manufacturers. The present work takes the subsequent input processes parameters specifically Work speed, feed rate and depth of cut. The objective of this work is to predict the grinding behavior and come through best in operation processes parameters ON HCHCR. Metal removal rate and surface finish Geometrical values are the important output responses in the production with respect to quantity and quality respectively In this experimental work, the results of 16 nos independent variables viz. work speed, Hydraulic feed, depth of cut, concentration of cutting fluid and number of passes have been studied for out-of-roundness error and surface finish using DOE method. It has been found that out of surface roughness and cylindricity error was mainly influenced with depth of cut is the most significant parameter. Roundness error out response affect with equal percentage of Hydraulic feed and Depth of cut. |
