Abstract

Steganography is defined as the science of hiding or embedding "data" in another transmission medium. It does not replace cryptography but rather improve the security. This system is based on biometrics. In this system secret information is embedded inside skin tone region of image size 256×256 that may offer a secure location for information activity. The skin tone detection is performed using HSV (Hue, Saturation and Value) colour space. And embedding of secret data of size 32×32 is performed using frequency domain approach. This system shows that by adopting an object oriented Steganography mechanism, in the sense that, we track skin tone objects in image. Secret data is hidden in one of the high frequency sub-band of DWT by tracing skin pixels in that sub-band. Different steps of data hiding are applied by cropping an image, we get a higher security.
