Abstract

Today joining of alloys has been facing many problems in our most popular sectors like aerospace, automotive, marine and electronics etc. Friction stir welding (FSW) is rock state of tie-up processes which weld the material in solid-state with uses of a non-consumable tool, without melting the work piece material. The welding carried out heat generated due to friction between rotating tool and the work piece material, which leads to a softened zone near the FSW tool. In present investigation welding of Al-6063 has been carried out by varying of input parameters (Weld Speed, Tool rotational Speed, Tool shape) to justify the weld strength.
