The study evaluates the effluent characteristics of domestic sewage treatment plant at ACC cement works, wadi. The influent to the sewage treatment plant is the wastewater from the employee's colony and the industry. Wastewater samples from the influent and the effluent were collected and then tested for pH, TSS, Biological oxygen demand (BOD), Chemical oxygen demand (COD). The analysis was carried at an interval of 15 days and for a period of 4 months. The studied characteristics were compared for their compliance with the Indian standards for agriculture purpose. It was seen that the treated water lies within the range specified by the Indian standards. |
