Abstract |

Today if we are constructing a multistory commercial building like shopping malls, hospitals, function halls, business centres, office building etc. The cost of these buildings plays an important role. To economize such buildings, the structural engineer must adopt suitable types of structural elements in terms of their stability, material, durability, serviceability right from the footing to the slab. But if we talk about R.C.C. buildings, the main structural element that affects the economy is the type of slab used for a site. Advancement in slab systems has showed versatile improvement in the conventional Techniques of R.C. slab casting. Recent advances in the field of R.C.C. Design have brought us a new way of casting slab i.e. the Flat Slabs and the Grid slab. Hence here in this project a comparison of conventional slab with grid and flat slab have been made using a software aid such as ETABS 2016 to find a best type of slab system for a site. |
