This project is designed to enhance the power quality and to reduce harmonics distortion in current type and power factor correction in domestic appliances of nonlinear loads with the help of Vienna rectifier (three phase three level three switch pulse width modulation rectifier). Nowadays harmonics distortion in electric distribution system is increasingly growing due to the widespread usage of nonlinear loads. Most modern power supplies are nonlinear loads which contain electronic devices that do not conduct current over the full cycle of the applied voltage and so introduce harmonics into the power system network. Hence in order to improve the power quality and to provide unity power factor from supply side. The paper compiles and discusses the harmonics reduction method, power factor correction and power quality improvement technique. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system reduce current type harmonics distortion and power quality improvement in efficient way. |
